Please remember to hydrate!
That's what I am constantly preaching to my clients.
I think some of them do listen.
Now that winter has finally approached us (at least this week in NY) everyone is really concerned about staying one step ahead of a Brillo pad and ever closer to a Jergens commercial.
You may be surprised to find that once again what we put inside our bodies is usually more important that what we put on our bodies.
I had to pull our nutrition expert Dina Khader for ANOTHER question from Claire. Claire seemed to be full of interesting questions for our show (thank you Claire).
QUESTION: What about Hydration? I drink water all day long and my skin is still dry. What is happening?
- Claire
ANSWER: If drinking a lot of water isn't helping skin dryness, then make sure you are consuming sufficient amounts of olive oil and raw nuts. Medically, it can indicate a thyroid disorder. Optimal thyroid test results for TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) is between 1 - 2. If your TSH is above 2 you already have a thyroid issue based on more recent research. Lab reference ranges are too broad and will be changing at some point.

Think about your pets.... if their coats are dull and dry they may not be getting enough nutrients or oils in their diet. Another thing to think about is cleanser. The harsher the soap, the drier the skin. It throws your skin's PH balance off.
But I will leave that subject matter to the experts as usual.
Thanks for watching and reading,
