There is an underground cult of straight men that know more about beauty than women. Years ago my own brother had a case of traumatizing face acne. One day he decided to shower with Selsun Blue. Magically it had disappeared over a short period of time.
A few weeks ago one of my clients came to me about her friend's acne problem on his back. She said that he had been to all kinds of doctors and specialists with no success. She asked if I would be able to help out. I told her that he should try the Selsun blue first and let me know what happens. In about a week it was cleared. She said that the only side effect he had now was dry skin and some of the scarring.
I can't tell you how many times I have seen this help others.
The selenium sulfide is the active ingredient, but make sure you follow the instructions. In all instances the users used it as shampoo not as a body wash. Just allow the suds to run down the body.

I am 38 years old and have had mild acne breakouts since my teens. Recently I had a stress related breakout and my face had been sore. My mother gets soreness and swelling around her eyes and her doctor told her to try washing her face with Selsun Blue and it really works. She suggested that I try it so yesterday I washed morning and night and today my acne is alot better already. I will try it for a few days and see what happens. And yes, my skin does feel a little tight due to drying, so I'll see if that gets any worse.
I need to say that this is the best acne treatment of all time! I'm now 100% acne free, and I never thought I would be before I discovered this! I do have a few tips for using it though. I read about this on an acne.org forum, and decided to give it a try. Now, right before I tried it I had some exfoliation procedures done, which I think really irritated my skin. When I used the Selsun Blue I DEFINATLEY noticed a huge difference in my acne! In fact it was so dramatic that over night all of my pimples had completely gone away! Only red marks were left, however, my skin was severely dry. The next day when I woke up my acne was even better, the redness had turned into pink dots, and all the scabs were gone, but my skin was so severely irritated that if I tried to smile my skin crinkled all around my face, and it hurt just to open my mouth to eat. I tried putting coconut oil on the dry skin, and it just swelled up! I looked like a pouting monkey! I was afriad that the dryness was because of Selsun Blue, and switched to Head and Shoulders. Eventually the redness subsided, but the acne came back with a vengeance! The combination of the oil, and dry skin, plus using a less effective treatment just did not do my skin well! After about a week I decided to give Selsun Blue another try, and BAM! MAGIC! My acne is gone, and my skin is not in the least bit irritated! I highly recommend this to everyone! Just DO NOT try it if you've recently had a peel, and use a moisturizer! As a person who tried EVERYTHING, and I mean everything from antibiotics, prescription creams, proactive, Murad, acid peels, natural oils, Cider Vinegar, Vitamins, and has been on a candida diet for years I can say that I've tried everything there is to try in the world of acne treatments, even salt water! This is the best! I had some small success with Murad, and antibiotics, but this in all seriousness CURED my acne, and in about 2 days! That sounds too miraculous to believe, but it's true! Just dilute it in water, lather it on your face / back / chest and massage for 2-3 minutes. Then rinse well. Go ahead and use any moisturizer you like. (I can now use moisturizers that aren't even intended for oily skin, like Nivea cream, with fantastic very non-oily results!) If you are suffering with acne, especially with adult acne, (Like I was, I had severe cystic greasy acne for 11+ years!) Please give this a try! There is no chance you'll regret it! Um its great for a lot of people but selsun blue definetly didnt due anything for my acne. I had backne for yeasrs and thats becuase its genetic/hormonal.But it does help clean a lot of the grease on my hair that had been building up on my scalp because it simply would not wash off with normal shampoos (the gunk would just accumulate). I think that grease was slowly sliding from my scalp to other parts of my body and staying their. wierd i know.
I am a 38 year old, black female. I have had back and arm acne since I was 16 years old. I also used several antibiotics but the acne keeps returning. I stared using selsun blue AND head and shoulders. I rub a dime size amount on my arms and back, leave it for 2-3 minutes and shower. I then use Hydroxy lotion and wait 2-3 minutes before applying eucerin body lotion. I have to say my acne has cleared tramendously! I would recommend Selsun blue in a heart beat for bacne!
When I first heard about this I thought it sounded crazy! I tried it anyway though because I was so desperate I felt like I've tried everything and it never worked. Well three days later my acne is almost completely gone!!
